Due Date

Today is my due date... ugh! Still no real signs of labor. Today at my OB appointment I asked the midwife about how to induce labor, she gave me a few suggestions and then went on to explain about her "karmic/spiritual belief" that babies come into the world when they are ready and that I just need to be patient... bah! However, looking on the bright side... I'll most likely get to go see Eclipse with all my friends on Friday night!

Below is a picture of my baby belly today (Ethan's due date), and below that is a picture of my baby belly on Cala's due date.

Goodbye and Hello

Goodbye cubicle!

Goodbye work friends!

Hello to being a stay-at-home mom!

This past week was my last day of work. It was definitely bittersweet. I love the girls I work with and I like pretty much everything about my job, but I'm so excited to get to be a stay-at-home mom again!

Of course we had to celebrate, so we got a big, greasy New York style pizza and had a picnic in the park along with some ice-cold Coke (one of my favorite things these days!).

I'm due in 3 days!

Jersey Shore

We decided to take one last trip before the new baby comes. The weather was gorgeous so we drove down to the Jersey shore. Despite cold water, it turned out to be a great day!

Someone got a little sleepy... we were totally grateful for the chance to just sit and enjoy the sun, waves, and breeze while she slept.

This is the only picture where she is actually looking at the camera and smiling... it figures that her head is under the basket!

Mark was burying her leg in the sand, which was fun for her until she realized she was really stuck in there :)

After the beach we went for a walk on the boardwalk and found this store "Candy-teria". I was in heaven! Cala shares my love of candy so we had a great time filling up a bag to enjoy.

That night as we drove home I realized that I had gotten way too much sun. I had put on sunscreen throughout the day but obviously it wasn't enough, so now I'm painfully sporting the lobster look :) I got plenty of comments in church yesterday about my sunburn, which would have been annoying except that it gave people something else to comment on besides "You're still pregnant!" "When is your baby due?" "Do you think he'll be born on time?" and on and on. So at least something good came of the sunburn...

Next up baby Ethan... hopefully!

Happy Father's Day!

Cala has the best dad in the world! I love to watch Mark being a dad, he's so good at it! Here are some pics of Mark and Cala together...

Aunt Amanda came to town

My sister Amanda came for one last visit before she moves out to Utah. It was fun to have her, and Cala definitely enjoyed playing with "Meenda". Here's a picture of beautiful us in face masks at a Relief Society Acitivty Spa night!

And here's the yum dessert we made for it.

The next day we went strawberry picking. It went a lot better than last year's strawberry picking probably because Amanda was there to help with crazy Cala. And we also introduced Aunt Amanda to apple cider donuts, we can't ever go to Indian Ladder Farms without getting a donut!

Here's Cala "posing" with a strawberry.

Then we celebrated Amanda's birthday with a spaghetti dinner and cheesecake from the The Cheesecake Factory.

And presents of course.

Thanks for coming, it was fun having you Amanda!

Baby Shower!

I have some amazing friends here in New York, and they threw me a baby shower last Saturday. It looked like something you would see in a magazine, everything was so perfect! The weather even cooperated. I had the best time!

There was even a table full of candy... one of my favorite things in the WORLD!

Here's a close up in case you want a better look, I know I couldn't stay away from it!

We had a yummy dinner of navajo tacos!

What a fun drink table!

The kiddos.

The girls that planned this unbelievable shower.

And a baby shower wouldn't be complete without a game... This was the funniest game ever! My friend McKenzie came up with it, and game planning is definitely one of her talents! (sorry I don't have a picture of you holding it, McKenzie!) Can you guess what the game was...?

Pin the breast-feeding baby on the breast! Even Cala got to play!
